Exploration, Control, & Game Intelligence

Phase 2 is designed for young athletes ages 8 to 10 who have already developed the basic tools of the game and are ready to explore deeper control, decision-making, and real-game understanding.

This stage follows our Foundation & Discovery program and leads players into a more structured, progressive path — one that balances individual skill growth with the first steps of tactical play.

The program is split into 3 progressive 12-week cycles.

Cycle 1: Core Control

Refining the skill to control the game

In this first cycle, players focus on mastering the ball with purpose — using both feet, controlling direction, and staying composed under pressure. This is where they sharpen the tools they began developing in Phase 1.

Key Development Areas:

  • First touch & ball mastery

  • Dribbling in tight spaces

  • Passing with both feet

  • 1v1 attacking and defending

  • Body orientation and coordination

  • Movement through agility and rhythm games

Duration: 12 Weeks

Schedule: Monday - Thursday

Session Length: 75 minutes

Start Date: September 2nd, 2025

Location: Laveen, Az

Cycle 2: Smart Play

Turning skill into structure

Players begin applying their skills in small group settings. Focus shifts to reading the game, making quicker decisions, and moving with or without the ball. The goal is to build structure, teamwork, and awareness.

Key Development Areas:

  • 2v1 and 3v2 scenarios

  • Basic team shape in 3v3

  • Press and recover concepts

  • Passing lanes and angles

  • Off-the-ball support and movement

  • Defending in pairs (cover and pressure)

Duration: 12 Weeks

Schedule: Monday - Thursday

Session Length: 75 minutes

Start Date: December 2nd, 2025

Location: Laveen, Az

Cycle 3: Play IQ

Learning how to play as a team

This cycle introduces game intelligence — understanding roles, transitions, and basic tactics. Players begin to think like teammates, not just individuals, and apply everything they’ve learned in realistic situations.

Key Development Areas:

  • Game-based decisions under pressure

  • Rotating positions (attacker, defender, creator)

  • Compact defending, quick transitions

  • Timing and spacing in attack

  • Small-sided matches with rules and roles

  • Leadership, communication, and reflection

Duration: 12 Weeks

Schedule: Monday - Thursday

Session Length: 75 minutes

Start Date: March 2nd, 2026

Location: Laveen, Az
